We're heavier with water retention! What causes it?

This is something a lot of people don't think of when they're on a scale, you feel good about your weight, but get shocked that you're actually 1-3kg heavier! Wat causes it? And how do we avoid it from happening?

We weigh more when our bodies retain water. It can be affected by high sodium(salty) foods, carbohydrate foods, a lack of water intake, women's menstrual cycle and stress! For those heavy lifters in the gym, when you do heavy weights, the muscle fibers tear and inflammation occurs in the muscle that also causes your muscles to retain water.

Many people think that drinking water causes water retention. Its not true! Remember, if the body is fed consistently, it will release consistently. So drink more water, and your body will release more water and also flush out excess sodium as well as toxins. Drink between 2-4 liters of water per day and see how your weight drops!
